Austin Switser is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts and creative director of the projection design studio Switser + Knight in Brooklyn. His current projects include the plays „Wüstenblume“ at Theater St. Gallen, „Tree of Codes“ and „Onegin“ at the Spoleto Festival (USA), „Trojan Women“ (Korean National Theater, Singapore International Festival of the Arts, LIFT, Holland Festival, Wiener Festwochen), „Paradise Interrupted“ (Spoleto Festival USA, Lincoln Center Festival, Singapore International Festival of the Arts, Taipei National Theater, MGM Theater Macau), „Facing Goya“ (Spoleto Festival USA, Singapore International Festival of the Arts), „Émilie“ (Spoleto Festival USA, Lincoln Center Festival, Finnish National Opera) and „Tristan und Isolde“ (The Dallas Opera).
His theater projects include „He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box” (Theatre for A New Audience), which won several Obie Awards, „Big Love” (Signature Theatre), „Sontag: Reborn”, “¡El Conquistador!” (New York Theatre Workshop), „Strange Window: Turn of the Screw”, „Elements of OZ”, “House/Divided” and „Jet Lag 2010” (The Builders Association).
Austin has worked locally at Mark Taper Forum, Ahmanson Theater, The Geffen Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, The Globe Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, Syracuse Stage and Second Stage.
