Tom Strebel received his training in Europe and the USA. As founder and co-owner of audiopool GmbH based in Basel (CH), he is active in the fields of sound design, consulting, audio engineering, event, studio and TV production as well as studio design.

For over 20 years, Tom Strebel has dedicated himself to sound design for numerous well-known musicals and productions worldwide. His projects include „West Side Story“, „Dance of the Vampires”, “Elisabeth”, “Les Misérables”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Cats”, “Evita”, “Mamma Mia”, “Rebecca”, “Robin Hood”, “Basel Tattoo”, “Bonifatius”, “Ich war noch niemals in New York”, “I am from Austria”, “Rock Me Amadeus” and “Mary Poppins”.

His prominent clients include Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, Thunerseespiele AG, FBM, Stage Entertainment Germany, spotlight musicals GmbH, Basel Tattoo Productions GmbH, Shanghai Culture Square and Lion Musicals Denmark

In the course of his career, Tom Strebel has received numerous awards in recognition of his artistic excellence: Participation in the German Film Award in the category „Best Film Music“, Oscar for outstanding film music in „Jenseits der Stille“ and „Nirgendwo in Afrika“, together with composer Niki Reiser, German Stage Award „OPUS“, Broadway World Austria Award for „Best Sound Design“, nomination „Best Sound Design“ for the German Musical Theater Award (2023).
