Spotlight starNico Schweers
Even before he began his studies at the August Everding Bavarian Theater Academy in Munich, Nico was part of the young talent development program at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, where he appeared on stage as Bobby Child in „Crazy for You.“ During his studies, he appeared, among other roles, as Jim Farrell in the Austrian premiere of „Titanic.“.
This was followed by roles in productions such as „Kiss Me, Kate“ (Theater Erfurt), „Roxy and Her Wonder Team“ (world premiere at Theater Dortmund), „Bussi“ (world premiere at Gärtnerplatztheater Munich), „Spamalot“ (Zeltpalast Merzig), „The Sound of Music“ (Prinzregententheater, Munich), „ABBA – Waterloo in the Ball Pit“ (Kammertheater, Karlsruhe), „Sunset Boulevard“ (Theater Bolzano), and „Einstein – A Matter of Time“ (Theater St. Gallen). He also appeared as Henri Baufeld in „An American in Paris“ (Landgraf Tour) and at the Luisenburg Festival, both as Kenickie in „Grease“ and in his dream role as Riff in „West Side Story.“.
He also appeared in „Ich war noch niemals in New York“ (ensemble, understudy for Axel Staudach/Captain), Disney’s ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame„ (Jehan, understudy for Phoebus), as Erwin Bach in “TINA,„ and as part of the ensemble/Sky in “Mamma Mia!„.
He performed his own shows on the Mein Schiff fleet and, as Janis, opened the Theater am Lohmarkt in Rheinbach in the two-person musical „Jana and Janis.“.
Most recently, he appeared on stage in China as Schwarzenberg/Franz Josef (understudy) in the musical „Elisabeth.“ He is currently appearing in the world premiere of the musical „Der Schimmelreiter“ in Fulda.
