Robert Schmelcher has performed at numerous renowned theaters in German-speaking countries, including the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, the Stage Apollo Theater in Stuttgart, the Theater St. Gallen, and the Bad Hersfeld Festival.

His most notable roles include Erwin Bach in „TINA – The Tina Turner Musical,“ Artie Green in „Sunset Boulevard,“ Jacob Marley in „A Christmas Carol,“ Baron Fitzwalter in „Robin Hood – The Musical,“ and Anastasius in „Die Päpstin – The Musical“. He appeared as a showman singer in „This Is The Greatest Show.“.

Other productions include „Evita,“ „West Side Story,“ „Chess,“ „Hair,“ „Fame,“ „La Cage aux Folles,“ and „Hello, Dolly!“ Most recently, he appeared on stage in Hamburg as Professor Callahan in the musical „Legally Blonde.“.
