Current spotlight musicals with Sascha Kurth

Born in Herne, he completed his studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

His first engagements were „The Jungle Book“ (Wattenscheid, King Louie) and „The Little Shop of Horrors“ (Essen, Audrey II). „Into The Woods“ (Rapunzel's Prince) brought him to Theater Hagen for the 2009/2010 season. A year later, he appeared on stage as New Ager Ian in the German premiere of „High Fidelity“. From 2010 to 2012, he appeared as a guest in „Ich gehör nur mir“, the musical by Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze, in Oberhausen, Essen, Stuttgart and Munich. In the musical „Die Päpstin“, he played the villain Anastasius and Emperor Lothar. Sascha also appeared in the hugely successful musical „Elisabeth“. In 2014, he appeared on stage as Jamie in the musical „The Last Five Years“ in Hamburg and in 2015 for the first time in the musical „Die Schatzinsel“ at the Musicalsommer Fulda. In 2016, he took on the role of Blind Pew in this play in Hamelin. In 2018 and 2021/22, he finally appeared as Louis Stevenson. He repeatedly played the role of Rob Cole in the musical „Der Medicus“.

In 2024, he took part in the big anniversary gala „20 years of spotlight musicals“ on Fulda Cathedral Square. Most recently, he played the title character in the musical „Robin Hood“ by Dennis Martin and Chris de Burgh as well as Gerold and Anastasius in the award-winning new production of „Die Päpstin - The Musical“. In 2026, he will now slip into the role of Hauke Haien at the world premiere of „Der Schimmelreiter“ and is part of the „Best of spotlight“ gala.
