Verena Mackenberg completed her training at the University of Performing Arts and Music Vienna and at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

Since then, she has had countless engagements as a singer for shows such as „ABBA Review - A Tribute To ABBA“ and on cruise ships. On television, she appeared on ZDF's „Dream Ship“ and „Cruise to Happiness“, and in 2022 she was a jury member on the SAT.1 TV music show "All Together Now".
As a musical actress, she appeared on stage as Sarah in the musical „High Fidelity“ and Sally Brown in „Du bist in Ordnung, Charlie Brown!“ in Essen and as Molly Grant in „One Touch Of Venus“ in Leverkusen. At Theater Dortmund, she slipped into the role of Estelle Genovese in „The Full Monty“ and Lois Lane/Bianca in „Kiss Me, Kate“. In 2012/2013, she was the Mistress in „Evita“ in Rostock before becoming Cover Fantine in „Les Misérables“ at Theater Magdeburg. She was part of the Street Choir in the performance of Bernstein's „Mass“ in Düsseldorf. In 2020, Verena was seen at the Scala Theater Cologne in „Kaffebud - La Kölsche Vita“ as Oma Pütz/Gina Prepuzio and as Reinhilde Propper in „Ne Jrümmel in d'r Trööt“. In Bad Vilbel, she appeared on stage in „The Wizard of Oz“ in 2024 and as Sandy in the musical „Tootsie“. In Hameln and Fulda, she played the title role and the role of Marioza in the musical „Die Päpstin“.

Since 2022, she has been one of the stars of the tour „This Is The Greatest Show: The Greatest Musical Hits of All Time“, with which she will also be making guest appearances in Germany and Austria in 2026.
