We've had an extraordinary summer of musicals: With the world premiere of „Der Schimmelreiter – A Mystery Musical,“ spotlight musicals thrilled the audience and achieved overwhelming success.
Outstanding Success
68,500 visitors, 99 percent capacity utilization, and 21 additional performances speak for themselves. What started as 80 planned performances turned into a truly remarkable success story thanks to high demand.
9 Nominations for „Der Schimmelreiter“
Also at the German Musical Theater Award „Der Schimmelreiter“ has a strong presence: Right away 9 nominations honor the outstanding production and its creative team. The awards ceremony will take place on November 16, 2026, at the Tipi am Kanzleramt in Berlin took place.
We're already looking forward to the Special Jury Prize, which has already been awarded. Awards were presented to Markus Schabbing for puppet direction, Roger Titley for puppet design, and Christopher Dederichs, Antonello Papagno, and Robin Scheel for puppetry.
With the success of the world premiere, spotlight musicals has once again confirmed its role as one of the leading producer of new German-language musicals and at the same time sends a strong message about Fulda as a city of culture and musicals.
The journey continues
From the December 12, 2026, through January 3, 2027 „Der Schimmelreiter“ is in the Theater Hameln to experience. Due to continued high demand, the musical will then return to Fulda: Effective June 25, 2027 Hauke Haien is back on stage at the Schlosstheater. More info HERE
