Current spotlight musicals with the participation of Elke Quirmbach
Born in Düsseldorf, she was most recently employed as head make-up artist for „Les Misérables“ in Duisburg and subsequently at the Colosseum Theater in Essen. From 2001 to 2010, she supervised all productions in Essen in this role: „Elisabeth“, „Aida“, „Phantom of the Opera“, „Mamma Mia!“, „Ich will Spaß“ and „Buddy - Das Buddy Holly Musical“.
In addition to her work in the theater, she has repeatedly worked on film and TV projects (such as various terra-x productions or „Flawless“ with Demi Moore) and designed the make-up for many musicals, e.g. „Cyrano“ (Schwäbisch Hall), „Bonifatius“ (Fulda), „Elisabeth - Die Legende einer Heiligen“ (Eisenach) and „Kolpings Traum“. She was also responsible for the tour of Professor Grönemeyer's „Der kleine Medicus“ and the European tour of „Jekyll & Hyde“. After working as head make-up artist, she has been working as a freelancer since 2010, with a passion for creating make-up for musicals. Her venues are the stages in Tecklenburg, Coesfeld, the TIC Theater and the Folkwang University, where she also gives make-up workshops. Elke is currently creating the mask design for the „Sound Of Music“ musical galas and tours, such as „This is the Greatest Show“.
Elke has been working for spotlight musicals since it was founded in 2004. Starting with „Bonifatius“ and continuing with „Elisabeth - Die Legende einer Heiligen“, „Friedrich - Mythos und Tragödie“, „Kolping's Traum“, „Schatzinsel“, „Der Medicus“, „Die Päpstin“ and „Robin Hood“, she has created every make-up design. In 2024, she was responsible for the revised „Päpstin“, the anniversary gala and „Bonifatius“ on the cathedral square.
