Philipp studied musical theater at the Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich from 2010-14, received a scholarship from the German Stage Association and won the German National Singing Competition 2011 & 2013. He already played leading roles during his studies, including in „Dracula“, „Titanic“ and „Galileo Galilei“. This was followed by engagements as Clyde in „Bonnie & Clyde“ (Bielefeld), Ché in „Evita“ (Oldenburg), Tybalt in „Romeo & Juliet“ (Thun) and Bruno in „Das Wunder von Bern“ (Hamburg). In 2016, Philipp took on the title role in the Disney musical „Aladdin“ in Hamburg and later in Stuttgart. At the same time, he was seen as Tony in „West Side Story“ (Magdeburg & Dortmund) and as Johnny in „American Idiot“. In 2021 & 22 Philipp played the title role in the world premiere of „Goethe!“ at the Bad Hersfeld Festival.
In between, he toured as Galileo with „We Will Rock You“ and as a soloist with „Disney in Concert“. He then played Gabe in „Next to Normal“ (Kassel). In 2023, he took on two major leading roles: Frank Abagnale Jr. in „Catch Me If you Can“ (Magdeburg) and the title role in „Robin Hood“ in Fulda and then on tour.
As a voice actor, he has lent his voice to Jason Derulo as Rum Tum Tugger („Cats“), Aaron Tveit („Schmigadoon!“) and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero („Wicked“), among others. Philipp can currently be seen as Hercules in Hamburg. From the end of 2025, he will be playing Danny Zuko in „Grease“ (Dortmund) and, most notably, Philipp will be taking on Tarzan in the Disney masterpiece of the same name in Hamburg - his third Disney title role.
